The Motorcycle Salesperson provides quality service when selling our motorcycles and related products with professionalism and quality, for a positive customer experience and purchase.
Key Results Areas
Meet or exceed new and pre-owned motorcycle monthly sales targets
- Meet or exceed new and pre-owned motorcycle monthly sales targets
- Ensures the customer path is followed for additional sales of parts, accessories, financing, extended warranty, apparel, and other related services.
- Assure that all deals enter the Business Office
- Excellent customer service, follow-up and positive CXI customer survey results.
- Delivers our Customer for Life philosophy.
- Using the CRM system effectively
- Stays current on all required training
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow each stage of the sales process
- Present features and benefits of products that meet customers needs
- Show each customer advantages of Harley-Davidson genuine products and services
- Follow internal procedures to ensure timely and proper completion of all paperwork
- Maintain profit margins as per budget
- Assures that inspection, lien, title search, accident history etc. on all pre-owned units has been performed
- Work effectively with other departments to ensure smooth customer flow through the dealership
- Supports the Service Department for installation of parts and accessories sold through the dealership
- Maintain a clean, well-organized, efficient workstation
- Filling out demo waivers and other forms properly
- Reviews and updates customer leads and opportunities in CRM daily
- Assists that the showroom floor has inventory for display and selling
- Greet every customer in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner
- Handle telephone, texts, and emails etc. in a timely manner
- Handle customer complaints showing empathy with a positive attitude and demonstrate our commitment to “Make Things Right”
- Stay current on all training sessions. May require some travel.
Qualifications, commitments & job requirements
- Strong computer skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven selling and closing skills
- Experience selling F and I products would be a strong asset
- Understands the importance and benefits of a CRM system
- Knowledge and experience with sales of motorcycles and other related products and services
- Holds a valid VSA license
- Can freely enter the USA
- Holds a valid motorcycle license and submits a Drivers Abstract annually
- A motorcycle enthusiast
- Comfortable with public speaking and presentations
- Working within a 7-day work week and if needed for special events, evenings, off-site, outdoors and may require extra hours at times.
Physical Demands
- Required to bend, crouch, reach up to 50lbs of material such as boxes, parts, etc.
- Requires the ability to balance and push a heavy weight motorcycle
This is a contract position that runs until the end of December 2024 with potential for permanent Full Time.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Customer Service and Retail Sales
- Ensure answering service is deactivated in morning and avtivated at closing.
- Answer incoming calls in a timely manner and direct them to the appropriate departments.
- Ensure retail sales area is ready to serve customers at the start of the day.
- Maintain customer coffee area so we are able to offer our customers a comfortable waiting area.
- Greet customers immediately in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Provide excellent customer service to walk-in and telephone customers.
- Handle telephone and over the counter transactions quickly and courteously.
- Stay informed of store promotions, sales, events and daily attendance.
- Monitor store emails and faxes and re-direct them to the appropriate departments.
- Assist customers with their selection of merchandise and read what their needs and wants are.
- Point out any sales, specials, or new merchandise to customers.
- Keep up to date on the features, functions and benefits of all merchandise.
- View H-DNet daily to stay current with any information released by Harley-Davidson Canada.
- Possess the ability to work with several customers at one time and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer complaints reasonably, showing empathy, a positive attitude and know when to pass customer on to manager.
- Ensure all customers in retail sales area have been helped and are finished their business before cashing out.
- Proceed with closing procedures and deliver cash tills to safe room.
2) Maintenance of Merchandise Showroom
- Maintain clean and current displays of merchandise in which to appeal to customers.
- Keep reception/cash counters neat and organized.
- Help tag and merchandise new product when required.
- Keep showroom fully stocked as some categories are not restocked on a daily basis.
- Participate in cycle counting of all merchandise.
- Note items you feel are needed or should be increased or decreased to the Merchandise Manager.
3) Training/Events
- Attend Departmental and Inter-Departmental meetings when required.
- Stay up to date on training to keep current with merchandising trends and product knowledge.
- Help with special events when needed.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Multi-line telephone skills, excellent telephone manner as well as a friendly outgoing personality.
- Experience in retail sales.
- Experience with Point-of-Sale and computerized inventory systems.
- Knowledge of Harley-Davidson riding apparel and merchandise is an asset.
- Commitment to build on training and product knowledge.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk the sales floor for most of the day.
- Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach and possibly lift 40 pound boxes of merchandise.
Working Conditions:
- Normally indoors, however, some outdoor or off-site work is required for special events.
- Retail environment.
- When applicable, works within a 5-7 day work week and some evenings due to events.
