Trev Deeley Harley-Davidson Celebrating Female Riders May 2025
In a world where motorcycle culture has long been typically male-dominated, a new wave of female riders is reshaping the road — and at Trev Deeley Harley-Davidson, we’re proud to partake in empowering women through motorcycling.
As one of Vancouver’s oldest & well-known dealerships, Trev Deeley Motorcycles hosted multiple events designed specifically for female riders — to create a more inclusive, welcoming environment in the local riding community. Our most recent efforts included celebrating the 19th annual International Female Ride Day, as well as Ladies Garage Night; a hands-on beginner/intermediate level rider educational experience. We hadn’t had the opportunity to have a Ladies Garage Night post Covid-19, but it was a huge success and we’re excited for next season!
These events aren’t just checkmarks on a calendar — they’re part of our ongoing commitment to uplifting female riders, making Harley-Davidson Vancouver a hub where all riders, especially women, feel at home.
International Female Ride Day by Motoress
International Female Ride Day (IFRD) is an annual global event held on the first Saturday of May that unites female motorcycle riders in over 120 countries. The event was founded in 2007 by Vicki Gray, a Canadian motorcyclist, instructor, and racing pioneer, who created the initiative to celebrate women riders and raise awareness around gender inclusion in motorcycling. Through her platform Motoress, Gray has inspired thousands of women worldwide to “Just Ride!” — the simple but powerful slogan behind the movement.

At Trev Deeley Harley-Davidson, we celebrated International Female Ride Day with a group ride through Vancouver, bringing together women from across the Lower Mainland. The energy was unmatched — a powerful symbol of visibility and unity. Many participants described it as the first time they’d ever felt truly seen and supported in a riding community. We’re expecting an even bigger & better turnout for International Female Ride Day 2026!
Ladies Garage Night: An Evening Dedicated to Learning & Fun
Check out our recap from Ladies Garage Night
While International Female Ride Day puts women riding front and center, our Ladies Garage Night event focused on practical empowerment.
Hosted at Trev Deeley Harley-Davidson, this exclusive evening offered a welcoming space for women to learn essential motorcycle maintenance and safety skills. The event featured interactive demos on:
- How to change your own oil
- How to safely lift a dropped motorcycle
- An opportunity to ride a Harley-Davidson, we had an Iron 883 on our Jumpstart (stationary riding system)
It wasn’t just a class — it was a community experience. Many women shared that they had never felt so comfortable asking questions, handling tools, or talking bikes in a dealership setting. Everyone was there to support each other, no matter what they ride! Our event emphasized that with the right support, women riding can feel confident both on the road and in the garage.
In case you weren’t there…don’t worry we’ve got you covered. Here’s a tutorial on changing your bikes oil!
Changing the Culture: Trev Deeley Harley-Davidson Supports Women in Motorcycling
At Trev Deeley Harley-Davidson, we know that representation matters. While women now make up more than 20% of riders in North America, the culture and industry still lag behind in welcoming female riders with open arms. We’re changing that — starting right here at Trev Deeley Motorcycles!
By supporting events like IFRD and Ladies Garage Night, we’re creating space for women to grow, connect, and lead in the motorcycling world.
Whether you're brand-new to riding or a seasoned motorcyclist, there’s a place for you at our dealership — not just as a customer, but as part of a movement!
“It doesn’t matter what you ride… just as long as you ride”
